End User Computing Support Engineer

About the position

As an End User Computing Support Engineer the successful individual will be required to provide support to all levels of employee technical support issues. The ability to build productive relationships with colleagues at remote locations around the world will make you successful in this role as will patience and a sense of humour

This position requires hands-on experience across a wide end user IT and Security scope of technologies and processes to bring a smooth and secure experience to users .

About the role:

  • Provide end to end technical assistance and support to end-users - across Linux and Mac laptops and desktops, including configuration and troubleshooting
  • Ensure that computer hardware, software, and peripherals are functioning securely and effectively
  • Manage endpoint security protection with a risk-based approach depending on context and use cases including with support of following capabilities: Mobile Device Management, VPN, Strong and Physical authentication and Antivirus/Antimalware/EDR
  • Manage support tickets from creation to resolution
  • Serve as the first point of contact helping your colleagues to resolve IT and security end users related issues and incidents (software and hardware).
  • Manage purchases and maintenance of the hardware and other equipment needed in a remote-first company.
  • Have your assets inventory and stock management approach tailored to ensure rapid availability of hardware for new joiner an in the event of failure in a remote first environment
  • Hand over assets to new joiners and manage the return of equipment when required in sync with People Ops and Operations.
  • Improve and propose improvements to our existing back office processes.
  • Deliver IT services including multiple SaaS to the different teams.
  • Build and keep the IT documentation clear and up to date to help end users on their journey and to support IT back office processes.
  • Lead people through IT onboarding and offboarding processes, with emphasis on secure operations.

About you:

  • Excellent employee/end user-facing skills with user service focus
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Previous experience in mainly/full remote first environment
  • Have knowledge of Linux and Mac operating systems to be comfortable and sure when helping your colleagues.
  • Manage the command line interface with ease - both in Linux and MAC environments
  • Passion and good knowledge of common Open Source Software products
  • Have exposure to user access management in a moving environment using multiple SaaS.
  • Experience with MDM and EDR products.
  • You understand the typical processes in the software development teams and what kind of tools they’re using.
  • You understand which authentication models and protocols exist, what SSO and IDP are and how they work.
  • Have the negotiation skills to convince your colleagues that the best option is what they need and not what they want.
  • Collaborate with our Operations department to ship equipment all over the world.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to make things happen.
  • Have a structured and organised mindset. Generate documentation accordingly.
  • Know where it goes every euro you spend
  • Fluency in English

And ideally also:

  • You like working with people, and people like to work with you.
  • You are a curious individual with an eagerness to learn new things.
  • You like to ask questions.
  • You are experienced with networking including Wifi, VPN management.
  • You like to automate routine processes or you can highlight what can be automated/optimised.
  • Prior experience in the Security teams (endpoint protection, incident response).
  • You understand what kind of security threats are topical for the end-point users.
  • You feel comfortable working autonomously, with accountability
