About the role:

The Compliance Analyst plays a critical role in the KYC Team to help BIT fight financial crimes. You will be instrumental in supporting and enabling business growth. This is an excellent opportunity for those that are keen to gain exposure to the cryptocurrency / blockchain industry. The candidate will be based in Malaysia.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Analyst to join our Compliance Department. The officer will assist in ensuring that our company adheres to standards as per our in-house policies and procedures. You will work under the guidance of the Head of KYC and gain hands-on experience in the compliance field, developing your skills in client onboarding requirements and policy enforcement.

Job responsibilities:

• Be the subject matter expert for client onboarding across all lines of businesses.
• Perform onboarding KYC review and provide advice to internal stakeholders as necessary.
• Review and dispose of Name Screening alerts, ensuring alerts are reviewed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Conduct Periodic Review of existing clients.
• Conduct Counterparty Due Diligence as necessary.
• Discuss and escalate, as necessary, issues arising from KYC checks.
• Continuously contribute to process improvement initiatives; identify inefficiencies and control risks, propose relevant solutions followed by implementation.
• Make informed assessments substantiated by appropriate information whilst ensuring that all relevant issues and risks have been considered and mitigated.
• Maintain and update various compliance control lists and logs.
• Act as an ambassador of BIT, uphold the highest standards in professionalism, client satisfaction and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist in ad hoc projects and other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• University graduates in Accountancy, Business, Economics, Commerce or law related disciplines.
• At least 3 years of KYC review (onboarding/periodic review) experience.
• Knowledge on identification and verification requirements of individual and corporate clientele
• Understanding of different and complex corporate structures is a plus
• Proficient in English and Mandarin both spoken and written.
• Shift work may be required during Malaysian public holidays.
• Strong interest in Virtual Assets and blockchain industry.
• Prior Experience in a Virtual Asset service provider is a plus.
• Self-driven, strong sense of accountability and ownership.
• Excellent attention to details.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines while upholding high work quality.
