Today, the process of building web3 applications is fragmented, difficult and insecure. Our web3 development environment and cloud platform, currently pre-launch, are out to change this story. Cubist’s founding team includes skilled operators who are former founders and early startup employees, as well as respected academics who have collectively published over 80 papers in the areas of computer systems, security, programming languages, and cryptography. We are well funded, having closed a seed round in July led by a top-tier venture firm, and we’re excited to grow our core team as we build momentum for launch.

About the Technical Content Developer Role:

As our first Technical Content Developer, you will create and publish written content, social media posts, code snippets and sample dApps to interest web3 developers of all skill levels. This includes product documentation, release notes, blog posts and other content that developers will want to read and engage with. First and foremost, you’ll be a Cubist user, putting yourself in developers’ shoes to make content decisions that drive acquisition, engagement, and satisfaction, among other metrics.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a software engineering background with proficiency in general purpose programming languages like JavaScript and smart contract languages like Solidity; you must be able to quickly learn and become productive in any languages which are new to you. You will have an advantage if you have a meticulous attention to detail, creative mind, and a passion for writing. To thrive at Cubist, you should be someone who is happy in a fast-paced startup environment where we value speed and experimentation.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Product documentation: Write thorough, easy-to-understand developer docs, code snippets, release notes, and feature announcements to help developers become independently productive on Cubist; and continuously improve documentation as the product evolves.
  • Blogs and other long-form content: Author SEO-optimized articles on technical topics to promote thought leadership, brand awareness, and online discoverability for Cubist.
  • Simple dApps: Conceptualize and build simple applications on the Cubist platform, and develop engaging write-ups and tutorials around them.
  • Content strategy: Understand target developer communities and create timely and relevant content for a variety of channels, working with other teams to ensure your content is hitting engagement goals and driving product usage and signups.
  • Editorial calendar: Manage reviews, approval process and publishing schedule.

Bonus:

  • Prior web3 software engineering experience
  • Video production and editing skills
  • Teaching, instructional design or curriculum development experience
  • Formal content marketing or social media marketing experience
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices

Compensation & Perks:

  • Competitive salary and pre-Series A stock options
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits
  • Home office stipend
  • Company retreats

Our team is curious, energetic, collaborative, ambitious—and fully remote. We are going after a big problem with a transformative solution, and want to work alongside others who are similarly bold and motivated. If this sounds like fun, we’d love to hear from you!
