About This Role:
Crusoe is expanding our hyper-scale AI and high-performance computing (HPC) data center footprint across the U.S. and internationally. As we scale, physical security and compliance are foundational to ensuring the safety of our people, the protection of our assets, and the trust of our customers.
The Director of Physical Security & Compliance is responsible for operationalizing and executing physical security programs across Crusoe's global data center portfolio.
This leader ensures physical protection of personnel, assets, and critical digital infrastructure while executing site-level controls to meet regulatory, industry, and customer requirements established by the IT, Security & Compliance team.
The role oversees the operation of security systems, access control, surveillance, guard force management, incident response, and audit readiness for hyperscale Tier III+ data centers supporting AI/HPC workloads.
What You’ll Work On
Will be paid in the range of $225,000 – $280,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

What You’ll Work On
- Operationalize the global physical security strategy, and ensure data center alignment with enterprise security standards, and policies.
- Implement the security risk framework within Data Center Facility Operations.
- Translate enterprise security requirements into site-specific designs for new campuses
- Conduct site-level security risk and threat assessments.
- Establish a scalable security operations model for 50–400 MW hyper-scale facilities.
- Own the operational lifecycle of dedicated physical security systems (ACS, VSS, IDS)
- Execute site-level operational controls to ensure adherence to compliance programs for SOC 2, ISO 27001/27002, NIST 800-53, and other regulations
- Maintain operational documentation, logs, and evidence of adherence to established internal controls.
- Maintain year-round audit readiness for physical access to cages, racks, and on-site office rooms.
- Ensure operational availability, resiliency, and scalability of security infrastructure.
- Manage third-party guard operations for all campuses. Define post orders, staffing needs, and escalation procedures.
- Oversee physical access control, enforcing zero-trust entry to server halls, investigations, and credentialing workflows.
- Develop emergency response programs and lead incident management.
- Partner with Legal, Audit, and Security on compliance efforts.
- Grow and lead a high-performing security and compliance team.
- Build physical security incident response playbooks aligned with Enterprise Incident Response Plans.
- Develop and drill emergency plans. Serve as an escalation point for physical security incidents
- Integrate physical security into site-level business continuity planning.
- Manage vendor selection and performance for guard services, integrators, and security-specific hardware/software
- Own operating budgets and capital planning for data center security systems.
- Build and lead a team of physical security managers, compliance specialists, and SOC analysts to ensure effectiveness of on-site security operations.
- Develop a culture of security, compliance, and operational discipline.
- 10+ years in physical security or mission-critical infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of operating physical security technologies and system design.
- Experience with in a high-availability environment
- Experience implementing controls for SOC 2, ISO, NIST, and similar frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage multi-site security operations and compliance programs.
- Strong incident management and risk assessment background.
- Experience designing or scaling enterprise security systems across multi-site environments.
- Strong understanding of SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, and related frameworks.
- Background managing guard operations, access control, and incident response.
- Ability to lead programs from zero-to-one and influence senior stakeholders.
- Preferred: CPP, PSP, or equivalent certification. Experience in AI data centers, hyper-scale cloud, or high-security industries. Experience building SOC operations or enterprise access control systems.
